Along the Eastern Front of Petersburg National Battlefield, rangers take care of a battlefield landscape that includes earthworks, monuments, artillery guns, and historic structures where soldiers fought over one hundred and forty years ago. Visitors enjoy exploring this landscape to learn more about the battles and events that unfolded here. Many visitors also use the roads and trails of the battlefield for jogging, biking, and horse back riding.
